Basically it was an old wrench that belonged to the grand father of a good friend of mine. My friend and I met at The Mid Ohio Vintage Race Days. I had just started road racing vintage side cars. Matt had just pulled into the event after a 3 month long ride from Ohio to Alaska, then from Alaska to Mexico, Mexico back to Ohio. I had just been in a crash on the track and walking back to the pits when I met Matt. We hit it off and have been great friends ever since. Since we were both big motorcycle guys and Jessi was too, I thought one of his wrenches would be worthy of turning into a piece for the foundation. I forged out the blade to shape and then ground in the rest of the blade. I added in the brass pins for some accents that would be something seen on a motorcycle and the knife wrench was born!
